Victo Ngai is a Hong Kong illustrator internationally renowned for her distinctive visual language and cross-cultural storytelling.

She was named in Forbes 30 Under 30 and became the first Chinese recipient of the Hamilton King Award from the Society of Illustrators (USA). Her portfolio spans picture books, publishing and commercial art. She has delivered lectures worldwide, and her works and career have been featured extensively by global media, exerting profound influence on emerging illustrators.

The design concept draws inspiration from the moon, the origin of Maxim’s lava mooncake. Moonlight glimmers and flows, transformed by master craftsmanship into silky lava filling.

This “alchemical” vision is presented through an East-meets-West design aesthetic. Natural materials converse with mechanical aesthetics — enamel, bamboo, porcelain and jade interweave with precise mechanical structures, striking balance between organic curves and rigid frameworks. Humans and mythical creatures inhabit the scene.

Form and meaning echo the philosophy of Harmony between Man and Nature, where all things achieve balance amid constant flow.
